Phenanthrene mineralization by Pseudomonas sp. UG14
World Journal of Microbiology & Biotechnology, 1995A phenanthrene-mineralizing Pseudomonas sp., designated UG14, was isolated from creosote-contaminated soil. It contained two plasmids, of approximately 77 kb and 76 kb, the smaller of which contained DNA sequences that hybridized with probes specific for ndoB and xylE, genes involved in catabolism of aromatic hydrocarbons.

Pseudomonas peli sp. nov. and Pseudomonas borbori sp. nov., isolated from a nitrifying inoculum
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2006Sixteen Gram-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore-forming isolates were obtained from a nitrifying inoculum. Analysis of repetitive sequence-based PCR and SDS-PAGE banding patterns, 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and DNA–DNA hybridizations showed that the isolates belonged to various groups within the genusPseudomonas.

Two strains of gram-negative bacteria isolated because of their abilities to decompose xenobiotic compounds were subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, the two strains were found to belong to the genus Pseudomonas. Benzene degrading strain DSM 8628(T) was moderately related to P. flavescens NCPP 3063(

Effect of Pseudomonas sp. on the degradation of aluminum/epoxy coating in seawater
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2018Polymeric coatings prevent metal materials from corrosion. Nevertheless, the degradation of the coatings in seawater by microorganisms is almost unknown.

Pseudomonas kielensis sp. nov. and Pseudomonas baltica sp. nov., isolated from raw milk in Germany
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2019In this study, nine Gram-negative, motile and rod-shaped bacteria were isolated during a Germany-wide investigation of raw milk microbiota. The strains could be differentiated from their closest relatives by phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characterization and average nucleotide identity (ANIb) values calculated from draft genome assemblies.

Glyphosatverwertung durch Pseudomonas sp. GS
Zentralblatt für Mikrobiologie, 1990Summary Pseudomonas spec. GS grown in the presence of 14 C-labelled glyphosate metabolizes the herbicide to inorganic phosphate as well as in respect of utilization of the C-skeleton. Furthermore it was shown that the primary step of degradation is the breakdown of the C-P-bond, because sarcosine was found as a transient metabolite.

Uranium accumulation by Pseudomonas sp. EPS-5028
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1991Pseudomonas sp. EPS-5028 was examined for the ability to accumulate uranium from solutions. The uptake of uranium by this microorganism is very rapid and is affected by pH but not by temperature, metabolic inhibitors, culture time and the presence of various cations and anions.
