Successful treatment of pseudophakic cystoid macular edema with intravitreal bevacizumab
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2008A 67-year-old woman developed refractory pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (CME) after uneventful phacoemulsification. Three months after an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab (1.25 mg), the CME was completely resolved, with resultant improvement in visual acuity.

Prednisolone versus dexamethasone for prevention of pseudophakic cystoid macular edema
Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018Prevention of cystoid macular edema (CME) is important to achieve good surgical outcomes after cataract surgery. Although many options for management exist, control of postoperative inflammation with topical steroids is one of the most commonly employed.

Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome Confused With Pseudophakic Cystoid Macular Edema
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1996Abstract. Vitreomacuiar traction syndrome causes visual loss as a consequence of persistent traction on the fovea from an attached posterior hyaloid. The diagnosis can be challenging because the attachment may be subtle. Cystoid macular edema secondary to cataract extraction is well known and can occur in the absence of any surgical complication ...

Pseudophakic cystoid macular edema treated with high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1999To evaluate the efficacy of high-dose methylprednisolone in the treatment of pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (CME).University-affiliated hospital.Four patients with pseudophakic CME who reported decreased visual acuities were treated with oral prednisolone (20 mg daily for 5 days), oral acetazolamide (500 mg daily for 5 days), and topical ...

Natural history of cystoid macular edema in pseudophakic bullous keratopathy
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1990A retrospective review of 25 consecutive patients having penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) with the preoperative diagnoses of pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK) and cystoid macular edema (CME) was undertaken to analyze the natural history of preoperative CME following keratoplasty. Follow-up ranged from 13 to 54 months with a mean of 27 months.

Treatment of acute pseudophakic cystoid macular edema: Diclofenac versus ketorolac
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2003To investigate whether topical diclofenac sodium 0.1% solution (Voltaren Ophthalmic) is as efficacious as topical ketorolac tromethamine 0.5% solution (Acular) in the treatment of established, chronic cystoid macular edema (CME) after uneventful phacoemulsification cataract extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.Referral ...
