GENETIC DETERMINANTS OF PSEUDORESISTANT ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN PATIENTS WITH CONCOMITANT OBESITY

Correction of pseudoresistance to sulfonylureas with amaryl
Pseudoresistance to sulfonylurea drugs is caused by their chronic overdosage and the resultant hypoglycemic reactions leading to decompensation of diabetes. The efficiency of amaril was studied in patients with type 2 diabetes ineffectively treated by traditional sulfonylurea.

Prevalence of pseudoresistant hypertension due to inaccurate blood pressure measurement [PDF]
The prevalence of pseudoresistant hypertension (HTN) due to inaccurate BP measurement remains unknown. Triage BP measurements and measurements obtained at the same clinic visit by trained physicians were compared in consecutive adult patients referred for uncontrolled resistant HTN (RHTN).

Pseudoresistant Hypertension Attributed to White-Coat Effect [PDF]
See related article, pp 564–571 An increase in blood pressure (BP) when taken in the office setting was recognized as early as 1940, when Ayman and Goldshine1 reported that BP readings measured in the clinic were higher than BP recorded in the home.
