Learning rotations

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 1204-1217, February 2024.
Many problems in computer vision today are solved via deep learning. Tasks like pose estimation from images, pose estimation from point clouds or structure from motion can all be formulated as a regression on rotations. However, there is no unique way of parametrizing rotations mathematically: matrices, quaternions, axis‐angle representation or Euler ...

The decays of $$\bar{B}^0$$ B¯0 , $$\bar{B}^0_s$$ B¯s0 and $$B^-$$ B- into $$\eta _c$$ ηc plus a scalar or vector meson

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
We investigate the decays of $$\bar{B}^0_s$$ B¯s0 , $$\bar{B}^0$$ B¯0 and $$B^-$$ B- into $$\eta _c$$ ηc plus a scalar or vector meson in a theoretical framework by taking into account the dominant process for the weak decay of $$\bar{B}$$ B¯ meson into $

Reconstructing a rotor from initial and final frames using characteristic multivectors: With applications in orthogonal transformations

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 1218-1235, February 2024.
If an initial frame of vectors {ei}$$ \left\{{e}_i\right\} $$ is related to a final frame of vectors {fi}$$ \left\{{f}_i\right\} $$ by, in geometric algebra (GA) terms, a rotor, or in linear algebra terms, an orthogonal transformation, we often want to find this rotor given the initial and final sets of vectors.

The LHC upper bounds for $pp \to \text{diboson}$, $t\bar t$ cross section on fermionic dark matter

open access: yes, 2017
The ATLAS report in August 2016 provided an upper limit for the $pp\to$ diboson and $t\bar t$ cross sections. We consider a pseudoscalar-mediated fermionic dark matter together with gluon and photon effective operators interacting with the pseudoscalar ...

Spin 1/2 one‐ and two‐particle systems in physical space without eigen‐algebra or tensor product

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 1457-1470, February 2024.
Under the spin–position decoupling approximation, a vector with a phase in 3D orientation space endowed with geometric algebra substitutes the vector–matrix spin model built on the Pauli spin operator. The standard quantum operator‐state spin formalism is replaced with vectors transforming by proper and improper rotations in the same 3D space ...

Evidence for a new pseudoscalar meson

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1981
Abstract Performing a PWA of the π − π − π + system over the −t p/p range 0.2 to 0.4 GeV 2 we find evidence for a J P = 0 − , J G =1 − meson of mass 1342 ± 20 MeV and width 220 ±70 MeV decaying into ϵπ. This state is produced by natural parity exchange with a slope similar to that of elastic scattering.

Relativistic Effects of Mixed Vector-Scalar-Pseudoscalar Potentials for Fermions in 1+1 Dimensions

open access: yes, 2007
The problem of fermions in the presence of a pseudoscalar plus a mixing of vector and scalar potentials which have equal or opposite signs is investigated.

Gluon fusion into a very heavy neutrino pair by Higgs exchange is shown to lead to substantial production cross sections at $pp$ supercolliders even without any extra generation of quarks.

Internal symmetry implications of the Veneziano model in pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar scattering

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1969
Abstract The leading order Veneziano model amplitudes for ( J P ) 0 − × 0 − → 0 − × 0 − scattering ∗∗ constrained by the absence of “exotic” resonances, is shown to predict the coupling constant relation of SU(3) coupled with the quark-model/SU(6) ideal singlet-octet mixing in the 1 − , 2 + , nonets.
