Vectorlike leptons and long-lived bosons at the LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We study a renormalizable theory that includes a heavy weak-singlet vectorlike lepton, τ ′ , that decays into a pseudoscalar boson and a tau lepton. We show that this can be the dominant decay mode of τ ′ provided the pseudoscalar couplings deviate from ...

Vacuum pseudoscalar susceptibility [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2010
We derive a novel model-independent result for the pion susceptibility in QCD via the isovector-pseudoscalar vacuum polarisation. In the neighbourhood of the chiral-limit, the pion susceptibility can be expressed as a sum of two independent terms. The first expresses the pion-pole contribution.

The glueball content of ηc

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
We carry out the first lattice QCD derivation of the mixing energy and the mixing angle of the pseudoscalar charmonium and glueball on two gauge ensembles with Nf=2 degenerate dynamical charm quarks. The mixing energy is determined to be 49(6) MeV on the

Spin-axion coupling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We establish a new covariant phenomenological model, which describes an influence of pseudoscalar (axion) field on spins of test massive particles. The model includes general relativistic equations of particle motion and spin evolution in background ...

Photon propagation in magnetic and electric fields with scalar/pseudoscalar couplings: a new look [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the minimal coupling of two photons to neutral scalar and pseudoscalar fields, as for instance in the case of the Higgs boson and axion, respectively. In this framework, we analyze the photon dispersion relations in the presence of static and

PSEUDOSCALAR MESON ELECTROPRODUCTION AND TRANSVERSITY [PDF]

open access: yesExclusive Reactions at High Momentum Transfer IV, 2011
Exclusive meson leptoproduction from nucleons in the deeply virtual exchanged boson limit can be described by generalized parton distributions (GPDs). Including spin dependence in the description requires 8 independent quark-parton and gluon-parton functions.

The Schwinger Nonet Mass and Sakurai Mass-Mixing Angle Formulae Reexamined [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We study the origins of the inaccuracies of Schwinger's nonet mass, and the Sakurai mass-mixing angle, formulae for the pseudoscalar meson nonet, and suggest new versions of them, modified by the inclusion of the pseudoscalar decay constants.

The Isgur-Wise function: A lattice determination from pseudoscalar → pseudoscalar form factors [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1994
Form factors for pseudoscalar --> pseudoscalar decays of heavy-light mesons are found in quenched lattice QCD with heavy-quark masses in the range of approximately 1-2 GeV. The Isgur-Wise function, $ ( )$, is extracted from these form factors. Results are in good agreement with $ ( )$ derived from CLEO measurements for B --> D*.
