Pseudoscalar meson-meson scattering

Nuclear Physics A, 1986
Abstract It is shown that an unmodified constituent model is not able to give agreement both with scattering lengths, either from PCAC or experiment, and with the experimental value of fπ. Therefore we propose a modified model. Assuming that only a fraction cM of a meson is well represented by the constituent model leads to a model which describes ...

Nonlinear Pseudoscalar Meson Theory

Physical Review, 1952
An attempt is made to explain nuclear saturation by means of a nonlinear pseudoscalar meson field. The same nonlinearity as that introduced by Schiff for the scalar case is employed; the treatment follows similar lines, using classical field theory. The total source strength is calculated for an isolated nucleon at rest, and an expression for the two ...

Lattice pseudoscalar-meson wave-function properties

Physical Review D, 1988
Using lattice gauge theory in the quenched approximation we calculate the decay constants and second moments of wave functions of pseudoscalar mesons containing nonstrange, strange, and charmed quarks. We find f/sub D/ = 134(23) MeV and f/sub D//sub >//sub s/ = 157(11) MeV.

Electromagnetic charge radii of pseudoscalar mesons

Physical Review D, 1989
The charge radii of the pseudoscalar mesons ..pi../sup +/, /ital K//sup +/, and /ital K//sup 0/ are analyzed in an extended vector-dominance framework and the results are compared with those which follow the nonrelativistic quark model and constituent-quark triangle loop approach. Further, estimates of the root-mean-square relative coordinate parameter

Pseudoscalar-Meson Universality Principle

Physical Review, 1966
It is pointed out that $P$-wave interactions of the pseudoscalar-octet (${P}_{8}$) mesons provide a practical method of grouping hadrons together in supermultiplets. The hypothesis that ${P}_{8}$-meson-meson and ${P}_{8}$-baryon-baryon interactions in the limit of small momentum transfer are proportional to appropriate matrix elements of the axial ...

Polarization in Pseudoscalar Meson Photoproduction

Few-Body Systems, 1998
Two problems of current interest in the use of polarization observables for pseudoscalar meson photoproduction to probe the basic dynamics are discussed. The first one concerns the extraction of the ratio of electric quadrupole to magnetic dipole transition strengths in the photo-excitation of the .
