Attachment insecurity and psychological (mal)adjustment in older adults: The longitudinal role of fear of self‐compassion

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Insecure attachment has been suggested to precede and perpetuate fear of self‐compassion, with a negative impact on mental health. However, this evidence was obtained using general‐age samples and cross‐sectional designs. Our objective was to, in an older adult sample, analyse longitudinally the indirect effect of fear of self ...

Affective CT‐touch attenuates cortical responses and subjective attention during temporal summation of second pain

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The study investigated the modulatory effects of affective touch on temporal summation of second pain (TSSP) in 32 romantic couples (N = 64). The design included a dyadic session (partner's CT‐optimal stroking vs. static touch) and an individual session (robotic CT‐touch vs. vibration control).

Beat‐to‐beat variability of ventricular repolarization reveals sex‐specific instability and proarrhythmic risk

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend A mechanistic framework linking sex‐dependent dynamical instability to proarrhythmic risk. Sex‐specific human ventricular models show that upstream modulators, including biological sex, hormones, drugs and heart disease, promote steeper APD restitution in female than male and enhance dynamical instability.

Temporal and nontemporal control in a midsession reversal task with variable intertrial intervals

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Volume 126, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract To assess the degree of temporal control in the midsession reversal task, pigeons learned a simultaneous discrimination with two stimuli, S1 and S2. Choices of S1 were reinforced on the first 40 trials and choices of S2 on the last 40. Variable intertrial intervals (ITIs) separated the trials.
