Femur fractures are often treated by fixing metallic bone plates in the fractured area. But metallic bone plates are subjected to stress shielding. To overcome stress shielding, a material with similar strength and stiffness to that of the human bone can

The binary companion of PSR J1740−3052 [PDF]
Abstract We report on the identification of a near-infrared counterpart to the massive (>11 M⊙) binary companion of pulsar J1740−3052. An accurate celestial position of PSR J1740−3052 is determined from interferometric radio observations.

Using time-resolved two-dimensional photon counting techniques we have found an accurate position for the X-ray and optical pulsar PSR 0540-69. Our position using postexposure variable aperture photometry confirms the position suggested by Caraveo et al.

Leibniz on the PSR as a Regulative Principle of Rational Inquiry
One of Leibniz’s fundamental philosophical commitments is the principle of sufficient reason (PSR). Yet Leibniz’s precise understanding of this principle is elusive.

Observations of PSR 0823+26 And PSR 0943+10 in the Decameter Band [PDF]
From December 1987 to February 1988 using the UTR-2 radiotelescope, we recorded the emissions of PSR 0823+26 and PSR 0943+10 at 25 and 16.7 MHz. Both pulsars are of considerable interest; PSR 0943+10 is one of several pulsars having two emission modes (Suleymanova and Izvekova 1984), and PSR 0823+26 has interpulse emission (Backer, Boriakoff, and ...

Design of a wide-input-range and high-PSR bandgap reference
Based on the actual design requirements of DC-DC chip circuit, this paper designs a bandgap reference circuit with an input voltage range of 2.5~15 V. Through the design of the pre-regulator circuit, the reference voltage output by the bandgap reference ...

We have investigated the stability of the pulse frequency second derivatives ($\ddot ν$) of PSR 0823+26, PSR 1706-16, PSR 1749-28, PSR 2021+51 which show significant quadratic trends in their pulse frequency histories in order to determine whether the observed second derivatives are secular or they arise as part of noise processes.
