Psychogenic Aspects of Burning Mouth Disease
2021In the past there was a strong belief that burning mouth disease (BMD), also referred to as burning mouth syndrome, was primarily caused by psychiatric diseases such as depression, anxiety and catastrophizing. The present view is that such psychiatric diseases may be associated with BMD, not being the cause of this disease.
