The Life Table of Psyllids (Hemiptera:Triozidae) on Tomato Leaves [PDF]
Bactericera cockerelli is a very destructive pest that transmits Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (Lso). An effective strategy does not exist to control the Candidatus Liberibacter species for plant protection.

Distribution patterns and taxonomy of some legume-feeding psyllids (Hemiptera: Psylloidea) and their hosts from the Iberian Peninsula, Morocco and Macaronesia [PDF]
Distribution patterns between continental and continental-island sister taxa are compared for some legume-feeding psyllids (Arytaininae, Psylloidea) and their host plants (Genisteae, Leguminosae).

ABSTRACT The pear psyllid Cacopsylla pyri is a major pest of European pear orchards, responsible for significant yield losses. Its management is increasingly challenged by restrictions on synthetic active ingredients, resistance development, and the shift towards sustainable production systems.

Psyllids (Hemiptera: Psylloidea) are plant sap-sucking insects whose identification is often difficult for non-experts. Despite the rapid development of DNA barcoding techniques and their widespread use, only a limited number of sequences of psyllids are

Pollinator‐targeted annual flower strips increase abundances of pollinators but also natural enemies and herbivores. Natural enemies and herbivores disperse in a taxon‐specific manner into nearby crops. Pest control by ground‐dwellers slightly increases in crop areas near the flower strips.

Lso infection in the (A) alimentary canal and (C) the salivary glands of potato psyllids. [PDF]
Green fluoresence indicates the presence of Lso while non-infected tissues appear yellow. Lso non-infected psyllids showed no green fluoresence in the (B) alimentary canal and (D) the salivary glands.

Prey Range and Voracity of Main Insect Natural Enemies of Pests in Corsican Clementine Orchards
To assess the biocontrol potential on the main arthropod pests of clementine orchards in Corsica, laboratory experiments were carried out using five potential predators. Their prey range and voracity were tested on three pest species. Then, a global predation rate index was calculated at the scale of the entire community of insect predators.

Effects of High-Level Acylsugar-Producing Tomato Lines on the Development of Tomato Psyllids (Hemiptera: Triozidae) [PDF]
Acylsugars have been shown to provide activity against numerous insect pests of tomatoes. Comparison of acylsugar levels in four tomato plant lines, FA7/AS, FA2/AS, CU071026, and 'Yellow Pear', found that the acylsugar contents in the elevated acylsugar ...

Insects and Survival: A Review of Primary and Secondary Defense Strategies
Based on a review of three decades of literature, insect defense mechanisms are classified into primary (I) and secondary (II) mechanisms of behavioral, morphological, and chemical nature. These mechanisms have been recorded in 22 (I) and 20 (II) orders, respectively.
