Enhanced field-driven domain wall motion in Pt/Co/Pt and Pt/C068B32/Pt strips

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2011
It is now commonly accepted that materials exhibiting high perpendicular magnetic anisotropy are excellent candidates for devices based on current-induced domain-wall (DW) motion. A major hindrance of these materials however, is that they exhibit strong DW pinning.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

PT-IC-seq, a new method for quantitatively PT mapping.

open access: yes, 2019
(A) Flowchart of ICDS and PT-IC-seq. The treatment of bistranded PT modified DNA with I2 will produce a double-strand break. In the ICDS method, after treatment with I2, the resulted double-strand break is then processed and ligated to a unique double ...

Spectral equivalences, Bethe ansatz equations, and reality properties in PT-symmetric quantum mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The one-dimensional Schrodinger equation for the potential x(6)+alphax(2)+l (l+1)/x(2) has many interesting properties. For certain values of the parameters I and a the equation is in turn supersymmetric (Witten) and quasi-exactly solvable (Turbiner ...

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...
