Characteristics of Arsenic Accumulation by Pteris and non-Pteris Ferns

Plant and Soil, 2005
This research was conducted to understand the mechanisms of arsenic hyperaccumulation in Pteris vittata by comparing the characteristics of arsenic accumulation in Pteris and non-Pteris ferns. Seven Pteris (P.vittata, P. Cretica Rowerii, P. Cretica Parkerii, P. Cretica Albo-lineata, P. Quadriavrita, P. Ensiformis and P.

Pteris melanocaulon Fée is an As hyperaccumulator

Chemosphere, 2019
Pteris melanocaulon is noted to thrive very well in selected Cu-Au mines in the Philippines such as the Carmen Cu mine in Cebu and the Manila Mining Cu-Au mine in Surigao. Soil and plant samples were collected from field surveys as well as potted experiments.

Antimony uptake and speciation, and associated mechanisms in two As-hyperaccumulators Pteris vittata and Pteris cretica

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2023
The behaviors of antimony (Sb) and arsenic (As) in plants are different, though they are chemical analogs. Here, we examined the Sb uptake and speciation in two As-hyperaccumulators P. vittata and P. cretica, which were exposed to 0.5 or 5 mg L-1 antimonate (SbV) or antimonite (SbIII) under hydroponics for 7 d. Both plants grew better under Sb exposure,

New Record of Pteris esquirolii in Taiwan, with Two Similar New Species, Pteris rugosifolia and Pteris subesquirolii

Systematic Botany, 2019
Abstract—Three taxa from Taiwan in the Pteris cretica group (Pteridaceae) have extremely wide pinnae that are greater than two cm wide. Leaf and spore morphology, complemented with molecular phylogenetic results, indicate these three taxa are new for Taiwan.
