Emergency percutaneous transtracheal ventilation (PTV)

Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians, 1979
Ventilation through a percutaneous needle catheter inserted into the trachea has been advocated for resuscitation in acute upper airway obstruction. However, the customized, prefabricated equipment proposed by others for that use is not always available. We describe a device for percutaneous transtracheal ventilation (PTV) that can be rapidly assembled

Lagrangian PTV in 3D flows

Applied Scientific Research, 1993
Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) is one of the evolving techniques which can cover the increasing need for measurements in a Lagrangian frame. Here some recent developments and the validation of the tracking scheme on the Kinematic Simulation Inertial Model (KSIM) test flow field is presented.

Development of interpolation-free PTV

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2021
A new particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) algorithm, which has no interpolation process requirement, has been constructed. An affine transformation and a hybrid fitness function were used to obtain final vector fields. A match probability method (MPM)-based PTV algorithm was used to save calculation convergences.

The Effect of PTV Size on PTV Dose Homogeneity

2000
The Nomos COR VUS1 System is a clinically-accepted method for IMRT treatment planning. Its dose calculation algorithm uses finite-area pencil beams with typical areas2 of either 1 cm2 (1 X 1), 2 cm2 (1 X 2), or 0.5 cm2 (0.5 X 1). In our particular system, a Siemen’s PRIMART3 linear accelerator using step and shoot static fields, we have selected a ...

4D-PTV Measurements of an impinged jet with a dynamic 3D-PTV

Journal of Visualization, 2005
4D-PTV system was constructed. The measurement system consists of three high-speed high-definition cameras (1k × 1k, 2000 fps), Nd-Yag laser (2000 Hz) and a host computer. The GA-3D-PTV algorithm was used for completing the measurement system. The 4D-PTV is capable of probing the spatial distribution of velocity vectors of the flow field overcoming the

Picosecond strain waves in PTV

Synthetic Metals, 1997
Abstract We studied the propagation of thermo-optically excited transient strain waves in thin films of PTV by means of the ps time-resolved pump-probe technique. We find that ultrasound at high frequencies (above 10GHz) does not properly propagate through the polymer film.

Nano-PTV Using Confocal Microscopy

Volume 4, 2004
A conventional microscopy and confocal microscopy was used to enable nano-particle tracking using a three-dimensional (3-D) diffraction image pattern caused by an optical aberration. The Point Spread Function (PSF) of a particle image is known as a function of a defocus distance from a focal plane.
