Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

FEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Marika Losi, laureata in Storia contemporanea presso l’Università di Studi di Bologna, specializzata in Archivistica e diplomata al Master di II livello in Public History presso Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, già archivista dell’Istituto storico della Resistenza e società contemporanea di Modena e collaboratrice della Fondazione ex Campo Fossoli dal 2004. Dal 2013 è documentarista presso la Fondazione Fossoli di cui è referente anche del Settore Didattico. Tra le sue pubblicazioni, ha curato il volume Dizionario storico dell’antifascismo modenese (Milano, Unicopli, 2012) e la Guida al Museo Monumento al Deportato politico e razziale di Carpi (Bologna, Bononia University Press, 2016).
