Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

NTRU-KE: A Lattice-based Public Key Exchange Protocol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Public key exchange protocol is identified as an important application in the field of public-key cryptography. Most of the existing public key exchange schemes are Diffie-Hellman (DH)-type, whose security is based on DH problems over different groups ...

A Secure Key Exchange Protocol and a Public Key Cryptosystem for Healthcare Systems

open access: yesContemporary Mathematics
Diffie-Hellman (DH) is the reason for the existence of a solution to the key distribution problem, where two parties can mutually set up a shared secret key over an insecure channel without any previous communication. In this study, a novel key exchange protocol based on the difficulty of the Discrete Logarithm Problem with Factor Problem (DLPFP ...

High‐Resolution Corrosion Fingerprinting of Alloy Libraries via Microdroplet Spectroelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic‐liquid microdroplet spectroelectrochemistry enables stable, localized electrochemical measurements over extended timescales. By coupling impedance spectroscopy, wetting analysis, finite‐element simulations, and operando Raman spectroscopy, it disentangles geometrical and electrochemical effects, opening new opportunities for rapid corrosion ...

A Quantum Public-Key Cryptosystem with Reusable Keys Using Entangled States

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In most traditional quantum public-key cryptosystems, the public key held by the key management center (KMC) is a group of quantum systems. The public key is destroyed after a secret communication process, and so users must reconstruct the public key ...
