Genetic Analysis and Physical Mapping of Oat Adult Plant Resistance Loci Against Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae

Phytopathology®, 2023
Six quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for adult plant resistance against oat crown rust ( Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae) were identified from mapping three recombinant inbred populations. Using genotyping-by-sequencing with markers called against the OT3098 v1 reference genome, the QTLs were mapped on six different chromosomes: Chr1D, Chr4D, Chr5A ...

БИОЛОГИЯ РАЗВИТИЯ ВОЗБУДИТЕЛЯ КОРОНЧАТОЙ РЖАВЧИНЫ (PUCCINIA CORONATA CDA. F. SP. AVENAE FRASER ET LED.)

2023

The production of phytoalexins by oat in response to crown rust, Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae

Physiological Plant Pathology, 1981
The antifungal compounds accumulated only in the incompatible host-parasite combinations; the time of rapid accumulation coincided with the time of the retardation of the growth of infection hyphae. Three major compounds were isolated. They are highly hydrophilic nitrogen-containing phenolics.

The role of avenalumin in the resistance of oat to crown rust, Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae

Physiological Plant Pathology, 1982
The relationship between the degree of expression of resistance and the production of avenalumins was investigated in the interactions of 2 physiological races of Puccinia coronata avenae and 21 oat Pc lines each carrying a different single major gene for resistance. Avenalumins accumulated in all incompatible interactions.

Surface structure of the urediniospores of Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1970
The surface structure of the echinulate urediniospores of Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae race 320 was examined with the light microscope and the electron microscope. The scanning electron microscope revealed a network of ridges encircling the spines. On many urediniospores, small ring-like ridges, about 1 μ across, closely encircled the bases of the ...

Impact of Crown Rust (Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae) on Competitive Interactions between Wild Oats (Avena fatua) and Stipa (Nassella pulchra)

Biological Control, 2001
Abstract Crown rust of oats ( Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae ) was investigated as a biocontrol agent for wild oats ( Avena fatua ) on San Clemente Island, California. Successful restoration of the native habitats of this island will involve the reduction of wild oats and revegetation with native grasses such as stipa ( Nassella pulchra ...

Physiological specialization of oat crown rust (Puccinia coronata Corda f. sp. avenae (Erikss. & Henn.) Erikss.)

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1958
The investigations described concern physiological differentiation in crown rust of oats ( Puccinia coronata Corda f. sp. avenae ). The pathogenic reactions of thirteen races identified from twenty-four uredospore collections are presented, and the results discussed in relation to the problem of breeding disease resistant cultivars of oats in Britain.

An improved method to quantifyPuccinia coronataf. sp.avenaeDNA in the hostAvena sativa

Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology, 2010
Abstract Identification and genetic mapping of loci conferring resistance to polycyclic pathogens such as the rust fungi depends on accurate measurement of disease resistance. We converted an absolute quantification assay of Puccinia coronata DNA to a relative assay by adding a TaqMan® primers/probe set specific to the oat β-actin gene to simplify and ...
