The oxygen‐sensing FixLJ represses nitrogen fixation in Rhodopseudomonas palustris in response to oxygen

open access: yesmLife, EarlyView.
Abstract Biological nitrogen fixation in symbiotic diazotrophs is subject to oxygen regulation by an oxygen‐sensing FixLJ two‐component system under micro‐oxic conditions. However, it remains unclear whether this mechanism is conserved in free‐living diazotrophs.

Expanding the binding specificity for RNA recognition by a PUF domain

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
The PUF RNAbinding domain has an eight-repeat structure with the ability to bind an eight-base RNA sequence. Here the authors generate a comprehensive library of variants of a PUF domain to find an RNA binding code and design PUF domains that recognize ...

An Easy-to-Design PUF Based on a Single Oscillator: The Loop PUF [PDF]

open access: yes2012 15th Euromicro Conference on Digital System Design, 2012
This paper presents an easy to design Physically Unclonable Function (PUF). The proposed PUF implementation is a loop composed of $N$ identical and controllable delay chains which are serially assembled in a loop to create a single ring oscillator. The frequency discrepancies resulting from the oscillator driven by complementary combinations of the ...

Optimization of novel compounds using computer‐aided drug design for treatment of cardiac arrhythmia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Loss‐of‐function mutations of the voltage‐gated Kv7.1 (KCNQ/KCNE1) channels lead to cardiac arrhythmia such as long QT syndrome, characterized by a prolonged QT interval . One strategy to correct the prolonged QT interval is to design molecules that activate KCNQ1/KCNE1 channels and restore the QT interval.

Exercise‐related microRNAs in Caenorhabditis elegans regulate calcium homeostasis and mitochondrial dynamics: Conserved pathways, divergent microRNAs

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Exercise‐related microRNAs cel‐miR‐249‐3p and cel‐miR‐77‐5p in C. elegans regulate lifespan, fitness, mitochondrial morphology and membrane potential. Although lacking direct mammalian orthologs, H2O2‐induced microRNAs mmu‐miR‐181a‐5p and mmu‐miR‐378a‐3p regulate myogenesis, autophagy, mitochondrial content and respiration in murine myoblasts ...

Working at Boimondau: A Community Experience

open access: yesSociology Lens, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 66-74, March 2025.
Abstract In the 1940s and 1950s, France witnessed the emergence of labor communities whose ambition was to escape capitalism and abolish wage labor. This article focuses on Boimondau, the best‐known community at the time. In terms of work, the central activity in the life of the community, two main tensions lastingly structured the collective and ...

Moral hazard on the ACA exchanges: Evidence from a cost‐sharing subsidy discontinuity

open access: yesJournal of Risk and Insurance, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines the moral hazard effects of cost‐sharing subsidies on the Affordable Care Act's Health Insurance Exchanges. Exploiting a sharp discontinuity in subsidy generosity at 150% of the federal poverty level, we compare healthcare spending for individuals just above and below this threshold using a regression discontinuity design ...

Highly Polygenic Control of Photosynthetic Responses to Nighttime Temperature Studied by Genomic Prediction

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rising nighttime temperature (Tnight) can reduce crop yields while low Tnight may restrict plant growth and development. Despite quantifiable effects of Tnight, genetic basis underlying plant responses to Tnight remains unclear. We investigated natural variation in long‐term response of effective photosynthetic efficiency (Fq’/Fm’) to Tnight ...
