Numerical analysis of effects of puffing on evaporation characteristics of bi-component droplet

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
This study investigates the puffing-induced secondary atomization and evaporation behavior of a bi-component droplet composed of miscible species (n-heptane and n-hexadecane) using three-dimensional numerical simulations.

Commercial permethrin elicits chemoreceptive responses on different Anopheles gambiae sensory appendages

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes exhibit takeoff responses when presented to commercial permethrin headspace. This product elicits electrophysiological activity in the antennae and tarsi. However, only the chemical information acquired from the tarsi plays a major role in the observed behavioral response.

Imaging of radiation during impurity gas puffing in LHD

open access: yes
0000-0002-4446-4603In LHD, several methods of detachment have been attempted, including impurity gas puffing [1], and the application of an m/n=1/1 magnetic perturbation [2]. LHD is equipped with an imaging bolometer (IRVB) [3] that views the plasma from

Intranasal diamorphine population pharmacokinetics modeling and simulation in pediatric breakthrough pain

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 435-447, March 2025.
Abstract Intranasal diamorphine (IND), approved for managing breakthrough pain in the UK, has been identified as an acceptable alternative offering effective, expedient, and less traumatic analgesia for children. However, the current dose regimen in pediatric populations relies on clinical expertise while the pharmacokinetics properties are poorly ...

The legacy of architectural and technical infrastructure [PDF]

open access: yesUrbani Izziv, 2001
In the introduction the conceptual framework of dealing with heritage is elaborated with emphasis on the subjective dialectic pairs: natural-artificial, old-new and beautiful-ugly.

A new method to identify and explain sources of precipitation modification, illustrated for the western Netherlands

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study develops a method to identify the source areas of precipitation events, as illustrated for the western part of the Netherlands. Radar‐based precipitation data are traced back to their source areas and machine‐learning techniques are used to identify hypothesized causes: urban heat, surface roughness, and air pollution. We find that urban and

Studies on puffing of Bengal gram. I.

open access: yes, 1986
Preliminary sand roasting of the Bengal gram was carried out at 150 to 200 degree C for 30-135 s followed by equilibration and water-dipping of previously roasted and moisture conditioned grains.

Active Cycle of Breathing Technique Versus Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy Versus Exercise With Huffing During an Exacerbation of Bronchiectasis: A Randomised, Controlled Trial

open access: yesRespirology, EarlyView.
Walking with huffing and the active cycle of breathing technique produced similar improvements in sputum expectoration and quality‐of‐life during hospitalisation for individuals experiencing a bronchiectasis exacerbation, while oscillating positive‐expiratory‐pressure therapy produced minimal changes.
