Advanced Optical Materials, Volume 12, Issue 12, April 24, 2024.Combining multiscale materials, spectroscopy, microscopy, and optical modeling approaches, we show that the electric blue color of ribbontail stingray skin arises from a unique natural core–shell photonic glass. The color‐producing tissue is composed of nanoscale crystals within quasi‐ordered vesicles, coherently scattering blue light.
