Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Pull-out force test.

open access: yes, 2018
The material is pulled on a specially designed fixture without holding it from the sides. The base plate moves freely and combines the vice, which has a freely determined angle. It is structured to support on the upper surface of the material with plates

The Effect of Bar Diameter on Bond Stress of Geopolymer Concrete with Pull-out Test

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering
Geopolymer concrete, an eco-friendly alternative, employs silica, alumina, and alkaline activators. While wet mixing has been extensively studied, its limitations, such as impracticality, quick setting, and low workability, are overcome by the dry mixing

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Numerical modelling of cyclic pull-out behaviors of embedded plate anchors in saturated soft clay

open access: yes, 2014
As a foundation for deep-water floating offshore structures, the embedded plate anchor should withstand the complicated marine conditions involving the cyclic loads.

Approximate Analytical Algorithm for Pull-Out Resistance–Displacement Relationship of Series—Connected Anchor Plate Anchorage System

open access: yesBuildings
To improve the pull-out bearing capacity of the anchor plate support system, a support system with series-connected anchor plates was proposed. Based on the Winkler foundation model, a theoretical analysis method for the pull-out resistance–displacement ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Theoretical model of piezoelectric fibre pull-out

open access: yes, 2015
A theoretical model of a single piezoelectric fibre pull-out is developed to study the interaction between fibre deformation, pull-out stress and corresponding electrical field.
