Approximate Analytical Model of Anchor Pull-Out Test

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1982
The two-dimensional problem of a rigid, unbonded plate embedded in an infinite medium with cracks emanating from the edges of the plate is solved with loading conditions approximating those found in pull-out testing and other engineering applications. The analysis employs the Green’s function approach of Lo, which leads to a singular integral equation ...

Comparison of Materials for Staple Pull-Out Tests

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1992
Abstract Maximum pull-out forces of 16 mm bridge width staples of 10, 15, 20, and 25 mm leg length were tested in cadaver femoral metaphyseal bone. Pull-out force was related to leg length, but there was a very wide standard deviation. A plastic composite bone and beech hardwood were tested as substitutes and found to be unsuitable.

Detailed analysis of the fibre pull-out test

Journal of Materials Science, 1996
A detailed finite element analysis has been carried out to simulate the fibre pull-out test. The fibre-matrix interface was assumed to obey a Coulomb friction law. Special attention was focused on the effect of residual thermal stresses. An approximate analytical solution, rather similar to those in the literature, was derived.

Pull-Out Tests on Injected Anchors in Tuff Masonry Elements

Key Engineering Materials, 2017
In this paper the results of pull-out tests on several types of injected anchors embedded in masonry elements made of yellow tuff are described and compared. Several bonded lengths and configuration of the masonry elements were considered in the tests. In particular, pull-out tests of anchors installed in single tuff stones were carried out in order to

Numerical Simulation of Interface Debonding during Fibre Pull‐Out Tests

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2000
AbstractThe Pull‐Out experiment is used for determination of the bond strength between fiber and matrix an fiber reinforced composites. An interface crack growth between both constituents and a contact friction behaviour on the cracked area can be observed in the experiment. In our contribution this mechanical behaviour of the interface is simulated in

Fracture mechanics of single-fibre pull-out test

Journal of Materials Science, 1997
Pull-out of an elastic fibre from an elastic matrix was investigated. A simple pull-out mechanics has been developed, based on the fracture energy criterion, to describe the debonding process, including friction. Experiments were carried out using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fibres embedded in a polypropylene (PP) matrix. It was found that growth of

Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Pull-Out Test

Journal of the Structural Division, 1981
A specific pull-out test used to determine in-situ concrete compressive strength is analyzed. This test consists of a steel disc that is extracted from the structure. The finite element analysis considers cracking as well as strain hardening and softening in the pre- and post-failure region, respectively.
