Execution of Pull System and Constant Work-in-Process Using Kanban System—A Case Study

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
This study presents the implementation of a pull-based production system integrated with a constant work-in-process (CONWIP) approach using the Kanban Methodology in a bearing manufacturing industry. A case study on the UN 3213B bottom roller bearing was

Integrated simulation–optimisation of pull control systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Production Research, 2015
Pull policies are considered to be among the most efficient control strategy. Setting the correct parameters to maximise their efficiency is, however, not a trivial task. Simulation–optimisation techniques have received particular attention as a means to solve this problem.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Research on Flow Field Characteristics Affected by Obstacles of Pull-Push Ventilation System of Plating Tanks through Numerical Simulation

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Pull-push ventilation system, with high capture efficiency, is universally used to capture contaminants from containment generation where can’t be enclosed and where the working area is large.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Towards Keyword-based Pull Recommendation Systems

open access: yesProceedings of the 18th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems, 2016
Due to the high availability of data, users are frequently overloaded with a huge amount of alternatives when they need to choose a particular item. This has motivated an increased interest in research on recommendation systems, which filter the options and provide users with suggestions about specific elements (e.g., movies, restaurants ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Automated Cardiff Model Complexity Identification and Parameters Extraction From Measured Tailored A-Pull Data

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
This paper presents a novel experimental technique for automatically identifying the complexity and coefficients of a Cardiff behavioral model of a microwave transistor using a conventional, narrowband active load-pull system.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
