Size effects in the fiber pullout test
In this paper, a numerical simulation method is used to study the effect of specimen size on interfacial behavior of the specimen in fiber pullout tests. Interfacial shear stress and normal stress are analyzed for different sizes of the test specimen. The interface between fiber and matrix is assumed to be bonded perfectly.

Chemically Fueled Systems Chemistry Across Length Scales
Chemically fueled reaction cycles regulate processes through single and multiple catalytic sites on the molecular and assembly scale. This gives rise to unique kinetically controlled properties/functions like spatio‐temporal catalysis, oscillations, optical properties, and perform work.

Oligomerizing Pluronic triblock copolymers provides a processing strategy for tuning the mechanical properties and stimuli‐responsive behaviors of micellar hydrogels. Varying oligomer fraction produces hydrogels spanning brittle to highly extensible responses; maintaining micellar architectures enables cooling‐induced reverse thermal shape memory and ...

Pullout test in steel fiber reinforced concrete
Use of steel fibers in cement-based composites has become popular due to possibility of using that material as total or partial replacement of conventional reinforcement, as in floor slabs or tunnel cover. This reinforcement aims to improve composites properties with regard, mainly, to cracks propagation.

A new phase‐change material encapsulated membrane offers more thermal resilience stability and safety than the conventional separators for batteries. ABSTRACT Thermal runaway in lithium‐ion batteries arises from the intrinsic coupling between heat generation and ion transport, yet conventional shutdown separators primarily rely on passive pore collapse

The Resistance of Denti-Geogrid Reinforcement in a Sand Model Based on the Pullout Test
In order to investigate the pullout resistance of the Horizontal-Vertical reinforcement, a “denti-geogrid” was assembled by bonding a “denti-strip” with the geogrid and the pullout tests were carried out.

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...
