Elexacaftor–Tezacaftor–Ivacaftor Improves Sinonasal Outcomes in Young Children With Cystic Fibrosis
ABSTRACT Background Severe chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a near universal manifestation of cystic fibrosis. Elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) is an oral, small molecule, highly effective Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) corrector–potentiator drug.

Experimental study of a novel mouse model of tibial shaft fracture combined with blunt chest trauma
Novel animal models showed the same pathological mechanism and imaging characteristics as those of patients with multiple trauma. Our model is useful for studying whether blocking or interfering with cytokine responses is beneficial in the treatment of multiple trauma patients.

Abnormality Detection and Localization in Chest X-Rays using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks [PDF]
Chest X-Rays (CXRs) are widely used for diagnosing abnormalities in the heart and lung area. Automatically detecting these abnormalities with high accuracy could greatly enhance real world diagnosis processes. Lack of standard publicly available dataset and benchmark studies, however, makes it difficult to compare various detection methods. In order to

Hematoxylin–eosin (H&E) stains of the heart, liver, lung, and kidney show acute toxicity. Abstract Background To investigate the toxicity of N‐n‐butyl haloperidol iodide (F2), a quaternary ammonium salt derivative of haloperidol, in mice for potential therapeutic purposes. Methods The acute median lethal dose (LD50) of F2 was determined using the Bliss

Croup-induced Postobstructive Pulmonary Edema
Postobstructive pulmonary edema is life-threatening, and results from a sudden episode of upper airway obstruction. Croup is generally thought to be a benign condition, but occasionally it can develop into postobstructive pulmonary edema.

Establishment of rat model for aspiration pneumonia and potential mechanisms
Aspiration pneumonia was induced in Sprague Dawley rats by intratracheal instillation of hydrochloric acid (HCl, 1.5 μL/g.wt, pH = 1) followed by lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 20 μg/g.wt) after 1 h. The model reproduced hallmark features of acute lung injury, including histological lung damage, microvascular dysfunction, inflammation, hypoxemia, and ...
