n-3系脂肪散を強化した食事療法が有効と考えられた肺気腫の一例 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
An effective treatment for the advanced stages of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has not been established yet. We report our recent experience of one patient with pulmonary emphysema treated by dietary supplementation of n-3 fatty acid for ...

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Dobutamine stress MRI in pulmonary hypertension: relationships between stress pulmonary artery relative area change, RV performance, and 10-year survival [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In pulmonary hypertension (PH), right ventricular (RV) performance determines survival. Pulmonary artery (PA) stiffening is an important biomechanical event in PH and also predicts survival based on the PA relative area change (RAC) measured at rest ...

Cerebrospinal Fluid Liquid Biopsy Enables Targeted Therapy Without Tissue Diagnosis in Pediatric Low‐Grade Gliomas With BRAF V600E Mutation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present two pediatric cases of pediatric low‐grade gliomas (PLGG) with BRAF V600E mutations diagnosed and monitored using cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) liquid biopsy analyzed via digital droplet PCR (ddPCR), without tissue biopsy. Both patients were treated with dabrafenib and trametinib and monitored through clinical assessments, magnetic ...

Pulmonary Function Testing for Preoperative Study of Patients for Anesthesia and Surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
In conclusion, if history and physical examination indicate pulmonary dysfunction, simple pulmonary function tests should be obtained and proper measures taken to reduce morbidity and mortality in surgery patients, especially those with underlying ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

ARTP statement on pulmonary function testing 2020

open access: yesBMJ Open Respiratory Research, 2020
The Association for Respiratory Technology & Physiology (ARTP) last produced a statement on the performance of lung function testing in 1994. At that time the focus was on a practical statement for people working in lung function laboratories. Since that
