Pulmonary valve disease: Pulmonary valve stenosis

2015
Introduction Transcatheter therapy of valvar pulmonary stenosis is one of the rst, if not the rst, catheter intervention that has facilitated the application of this technology for children so that many of them can benet by less invasive treatment for structural congenital heart defects.

Rheumatic pulmonary valve disease∗

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1969
Abstract The main findings in 51 autopsy cases of rheumatic heart disease with involvement of the four cardiac valves are described, with particular attention to pulmonary valve disease. The high incidence of rheumatic pulmonary valve disease is ascribed to (1) an unusually high incidence of rheumatic heart disease in Mexico City; (2) a marked ...

Isolated Pulmonary Valve Endocarditis

Cardiology, 2015
Endocarditis of only the pulmonary valve is a very rare finding and is often missed during echocardiographic evaluation due to limited views of the pulmonary valve and a low index of suspicion. We report 2 cases of pulmonary valve endocarditis (PVE), highlighting the importance of echocardiography in the assessment of the infected pulmonary valve.

Percutaneous pulmonary valve replacement

Coronary Artery Disease, 2009
Percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation helps in prolonging the lifespan of surgically placed right ventricle-to-pulmonary artery (RV-PA) conduits, and represents a less invasive alternative to repeat open-heart surgery. The clinical indications for treatment match those of surgery.

Pulmonary valve morphology after balloon dilatation of pulmonary valve stenosis

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Diagnosis, 1985
AbstractPercutaneous balloon valvuloplasty (BV) for pulmonic valve stenosis (PS) is increasingly becoming a nonsurgical alternative in patient management [1–3]. However, the mechanism by which BV dilates the obstructive lesion has not been firmly established [4].
