Effects of pirbuterol and sodium nitroprusside on pulmonary haemodynamics in hypoxic cor pulmonale

open access: yes, 1983
The acute haemodynamic effects of oral pirbuterol (a beta-agonist) were contrasted with those of sodium nitroprusside, a vasodilator, in six patients with hypoxic chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Establishment of a chronic aspiration pneumonia mouse model using oropharyngeal aspiration of food suspension

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Four aspiration methods (UV, IN, IT, and OA) were compared, and OA was identified as the most effective delivery technique. A chronic aspiration pneumonia model was then established through repeated OA of food suspension or gastric contents. Integrated analyses, including micro‐CT, histopathology, cytokine profiling, and RNA sequencing, revealed ...

Assessment of pulmonary mechanical properties influence on patternsand indices of their ventilation mechanics in various biologicalconditions

open access: yesБюллетень сибирской медицины, 2007
Patterns and mechanics of pulmonary ventilation are studied in sharp experiment on living rabbits (n = 15), after their sacrificing (n = 15) and on isolated lungs (n = 7).

Riociguat versus sildenafil on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction and ventilation/perfusion matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction Current treatment with vasodilators for pulmonary hypertension associated with respiratory diseases is limited by their inhibitory effect on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) and uncoupling effects on ventilation-perfusion (V'/Q ...

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSE TO ENDOBRONCHIAL VALVE IMPLANTING TO THOSE SUFFERING FROM PULMONARY DESTRUCTIVE TUBERCULOSIS

open access: yesТуберкулез и болезни лёгких, 2016
Goal of the study: to investigate the changes in ventilation and gas exchange function of the lungs before and after 1-1.5 months after installation of endobronchial valve (EV) aimed at cavity healing in pulmonary destructive tuberculosis patients ...

Dose‐dependent pathogenicity and inflammatory imbalance in severely immunodeficient mice infected with mpox virus

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study establishes an NPG (NOD.Cg‐Prkdcscid Il2rgtm1/Vst) mouse model for severe monkeypox virus infection in immunocompromised hosts, demonstrating dose‐dependent disease severity and revealing that unbalanced pro‐inflammatory cytokine release drives pathogenesis, providing insights for therapeutic interventions. Abstract The global spread of mpox

Morphometric analysis of postnatal lung development in the gray short‐tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica): An ultrastructural study

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract An ultrastructural morphometric analysis of the postnatal development of the lung in the gray short‐tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica) has been conducted to evaluate the morphofunctional status of this poorly developed marsupial lung immediately following parturition.
