Plasma PlGF as a Potential Biomarker in Ramucirumab‐Based Second‐Line Therapy for Advanced Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma: Exploratory Biomarker Analysis from the Phase II Part of the RAMIRIS Trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1817-1828, 1 October 2026.
Antiangiogenic treatment with ramucirumab is a standard second‐line option in advanced gastric and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. However, reliable biomarkers are currently lacking. This exploratory biomarker analysis of the RAMIRIS trial suggests that elevated baseline and early on‐treatment levels of the pro‐angiogenic placental growth ...

Association Between the Change in Interleukin‐6 Levels and Early Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation: A Comparison of Pulsed Field Ablation and Radiofrequency Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Despite causing greater myocardial injury and hemolysis, pulsed field ablation induces significantly less systemic inflammation than radiofrequency ablation. This reduced inflammatory response is independently associated with a lower incidence of early atrial fibrillation recurrence.

Pulsed‐Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return With Right Atrial Drainage of Both Right Pulmonary Veins

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Pulsed‐field ablation was safely performed in a patient with atrial fibrillation and partial anomalous pulmonary venous return. Electroanatomical mapping defined the sinus node region and confirmed sufficient distance from anomalous right pulmonary vein ablation sites, enabling successful isolation.
