The hypocalcemic hormone, calcitonin, was used in directly pulp-capped teeth to determine whether or not calcitonin promoted healing. Two dogs were used. Twelve teeth received the calcitonin; nine control teeth were prepared, and five were treated with calcium hydroxide.
