Arcuate nucleus-specific progesterone receptor knockdown in female mice is sufficient to induce PCOS-like hyperactivity in the reproductive axis. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Neuroendocrinol
Abstract Mammalian reproductive function is dependent upon gonadal steroid hormone feedback within the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal (HPG) axis. In polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), impaired progesterone (P4) negative feedback leads to hyperactive pulsatile secretion of luteinising hormone (LH) and impaired reproductive function.

Mitochondria Dictate Progressive Versus Bimodal Aging of the Mammary Gland. [PDF]

open access: yesAging Cell
Breast cancer shows a bimodal age distribution with a peak at 45 and higher peak at 65. Using mice with different mitochondrial genomes, we show progressive and bimodal patterns of aging of the mammary gland with distinct pro‐tumorigenic age windows. This finding may shed light on the bimodal distribution in humans.

XMM-Newton observation of the anomalous X-ray pulsar 4U 0142+61 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present results of an observation of the anomalous X-ray pulsar 4U 0142+61 with the EPIC cameras on XMM-Newton performed on 2003 January 24. The pulse phase averaged spectrum can be best described by the sum of a black body with a temperature of kTBB =

A multi-wavelength pipeline for pulsar observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Astronomical Observatory in Cagliari (OAC) is a growing facility with a group devoted to pulsar studies across the electromagnetic spectrum. Taking advantage of this expertise we have worked to provide a suite of multi-wavelength software and ...

Radio pulsar activity and the crustal Hall drift [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Models of pulsar radio emission that are based on an inner accelerating region require the existence of very strong and small-scale surface magnetic field structures at or near the canonical polar cap.

A Study on the Evolution of Emission Altitude with Frequency Among 104 Normal Pulsars

open access: yesUniverse
Utilizing the databases from the European Pulsar Network (EPN), the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF), and published literature data, a geometric method was used to investigate the multifrequency emission altitude of 104 pulsars. We found that

Multi‐Technique Integration Identifies O‐GlcNAc Transferase in Fibroblast‐Like Synoviocytes as a Therapeutic Target for Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AI‑guided single‑cell transcriptomics identifies OGT as a key regulator enriched in rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast‑like synoviocytes (RA‐FLSs). Inflammatory stimuli activate the OGT–SAP130 axis, which modulates the H3K27ac/H3K27me3 balance and epigenetically silences BTG2, promoting aggressive transformation of RA‑FLSs.

The Search For Pulsar Wind Nebulae in the Very High Energy Gamma-ray Regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this Thesis is to study the development of pulsar wind nebulae in the TeV regime and in doing so uncover more sources which have as yet not been observed at these wavelengths.
