Pulsars have been an object of research in several fields notably gravitational waves, the cosmos itself, deep-space navigation, plane localization methods, among others. Pulsar signals have periods ranging from miliseconds to seconds with extremely large period accuracy, comparable to that of atomic clocks.

Pulsar Timing and General Relativity
Annual Review of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1986Techniques are described for accounting for relativistic effects in the analysis of pulsar signals. Design features of instrumentation used to achieve millisecond accuracy in the signal measurements are discussed. The accuracy of the data permits modeling the pulsar physical characteristics from the natural glitches in the emissions.

Cosmic-Ray Generation by Pulsars
Physical Review Letters, 1973Electromagnetic and particle energy fluxes are equipartitioned in a superrelativistic plasma wave. The consequences for cosmic-ray acceleration by pulsars are investigated.
