Prognostic value of Pulsatility Index in acute intracerebral hemorrhage
Neurology, 2003To investigate whether data obtained by transcranial Doppler (TCD) have prognostic value in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).A prospective study of patients with an acute (

Hemodynamic imaging with pulsatility-index and resistive-index color Doppler US.
Radiology, 1997Pulsatility index and resistive index were mapped with color Doppler ultrasound (US) and compared with spectral Doppler US findings. In the carotid arteries and/or kidneys in 12 healthy subjects, the pulsatility index and resistive index were estimated from mean frequency shifts and mapped into "cool-warm" or "rainbow" color scales.

Transcranial Doppler sonography pulsatility index (PI) reflects intracranial pressure (ICP)
Surgical Neurology, 2004In patients with intracranial pathology, especially when comatose, it is desirable to have knowledge of the intracranial pressure (ICP). To investigate the relationship between ICP and transcranial Doppler (TCD) derived pulsatility index (PI) in neurosurgical patients, a prospective study was performed on patients admitted to our neurointensive care ...

The relationship between aortoiliac hemodynamics and femoral pulsatility index
Journal of Surgical Research, 1982Abstract The relationship between systolic pressure and Doppler ultrasonic velocity waveform characteristics, both monitored at the common femoral artery, was investigated in 35 limbs of patients with arterial occlusive disease of varying severity and location.

[Mean velocity and pulsatile index in primary headaches].
Revista de neurologia, 2002Several authors have used transcranial Doppler studies (DTC) in the study of changes occurring in migraine. They found an increase in mean velocity (VM) as compared with controls. However there are few studies of this in tension headache. To determine possible differences in VM and pulsatility index (IP) between patients with migraine and those with ...
