Closed-loop pulsating heat pipe

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2001
Flow visualization was conducted for the closed-loop pulsating heat pipe (PHP) using a charge coupled device (CCD). It was observed that during the start-up period, the working fluid oscillates with large amplitude, however, at steady operating state, the working fluid circulates.

Thermal Characterization of Pulsating Heat Pipes

Thermal and Thermomechanical Proceedings 10th Intersociety Conference on Phenomena in Electronics Systems, 2006. ITHERM 2006., 2006
Experimental studies were carried out to understand the heat transfer characteristics of pulsating heat pipes. Two heat pipes with different working fluids of HFC-134a and butane are evaluated. Both heat pipes are made of aluminum plate and have the same width of 50 mm and thickness of 1.9 mm.

Frequency Analysis on Pulsating Heat Pipe

ASME 2007 InterPACK Conference, Volume 1, 2007
The pulsating heat pipe should have one eigen frequency based on the temperature visualization of pulsating heat pipe. The preliminary model of pulsating heat pipe is established by the force balance between the driving force, the inertial force and the frictional force.

Double condenser pulsating heat pipe cooler

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2017
Abstract A novel pulsating heat pipe cooler (PHP) based on automotive technology is presented. This technology uses numerous aluminum Multiport Extruded (MPE) tubes disposed in parallel to achieve the desired compactness. The sub-channels of the MPEs are connected in a serpentine manner by means of fluid distribution elements integrated in the two ...

Heat Transport Characteristics of a Pulsating Heat Pipe

ASME/JSME 2007 Thermal Engineering Heat Transfer Summer Conference, Volume 2, 2007
Heat transport characteristics of a closed loop pulsating heat pipe (PHP) have been investigated experimentally. The heat pipe consists of 12 turn copper pipes with 2mm inner diameter. The lengths of heating, adiabatic and cooling sections are 53mm, 100mm and 51mm, respectively.
