Analysis of Kapitza-Dirac diffraction patterns beyond the Raman-Nath regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study Kapitza-Dirac diffraction of a Bose-Einstein condensate from a standing light wave for a square pulse with variable pulse length but constant pulse area.

Pulse width modulated control of robotic manipulators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systems Science, 1990
A robust discontinuous feedback control scheme of the pulse width modulation (PWM) type is proposed for the regulation of angular positions of links in robotic manipulators. The discontinuous PWM controller design is carried out on the basis of the expected linearization approach for a suitably defined average PWM-controlled continuous model. >

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.

Varying Vector Pulse Width Modulation for Three Phase Inverter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper mainly deals with designing a control scheme to eliminate the OFF STATE (T0 state) present in a Space Vector Pulse-Width Modulation; this has been achieved by redesigning the equations for calculating the reference vector of modulating signal (

Translating a Preclinically Tested 15 Hz rTMS Protocol to Humans With Chronic Spinal Cord Injury: A Safety and Feasibility Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non‐invasive brain stimulation strategy with a demonstrated potential to reinforce the residual pathways after a spinal cord injury (SCI). A preclinically tested high‐frequency (15 Hz) rTMS (15 Hz rTMS) protocol was shown to induce corticospinal tract axon regeneration growth ...
