Pulsed Eddy Current Thermography and Applications
2011In this paper we report on the application of the pulsed eddy current thermography inspection technique to the detection and quantification of defects in a variety of materials. After introducing the appropriate modelling and simulation techniques an overview of a typical PEC thermography system setup is provided.

Pulsed eddy current thermography: system development and evaluation
Insight - Non-Destructive Testing and Condition Monitoring, 2010There is a need for fast and efficient techniques to inspect engineering structures and complex components such as aircraft turbine blades to identify potential sites of failure. Pulsed eddy current (PEC) thermography is a new inspection technique which allows the user to capture the eddy current distribution in a component or structure using infrared ...

The polarographic current “constant” in pulse polarography,
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1977Abstract The equations of Fonds, Brinkmann and Los allow a more exact theoretical evaluation of pulse polarographic phenomena than it is possible with their counterparts in classical polarography. The possibility of deducing a polarographic current constant of some sort, similar to the Lingane-Loveridge equation, is studied.

Restoring rectangular pulses of stimulation current
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1966Abstract The extensively used rectangular pulses for electrical stimulation of laboratory animals are greatly distorted when applied to thin wire electrodes. The large current densities present at the electrode tips cause a capacitive behaviour of the metal-electrolyte interface.

Abstract Pulsed-current plating can be defined simply as metal deposition by pulsed electrolysis, which involves using interrupted direct current to electroplate parts. This article discusses the advantages and limitations of pulsed-current plating and provides information on the process principles and control, solution composition ...

Production of fluorine with pulsed currents
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1992During the d.c. electrolysis of KF-nHF melts, a passivating film of graphite fluoride (CFx) is formed on the carbon electrodes, leading to high anodic overvoltage. Pulsed electrolysis enables fluorine production with significant improvements if, during the lowest potential of the pulse, a small reduction current is applied to the carbon electrode ...

[Stimulant current diagnosis and therapy with pulsed currents].
Zeitschrift fur Orthopadie und ihre Grenzgebiete, 1984Thanks to its efficiency and versatility, and the fact that it has none of the frequently negative side-effects of drugs, stimulant-current therapy has become rapidly more important. The use of defined stimulant-current pulses also enables the condition of neuromuscular system to be described accurately in terms of measurements--a valuable diagnostic ...

A current transformer for microsecond pulses
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1968A toroidal current pulse transformer suitable for the measurement of large microsecond current pulses is described. An accuracy of 2 percent was obtained in reproducing approximately rectangular pulses over the 0.5- to 20-µs range for amplitudes up to 250 A.

Poetry to Pulsed Eddy Currents
1999Most papers are about method and results, building blocks in the temples of physics and engineering. And rightly so. But this paper is about process, the process of discovery and of creativity. It is about frustration, joy, commitment, determination, steadfastness, failure, and ultimately triumph.
