Pulse propagation in gravity currents [PDF]
Real world gravity current flows rarely exist as a single discrete event, but are instead made up of multiple surges. This paper examines the propagation of surges as pulses in gravity currents. Using theoretical shallow-water modeling, we analyze the structure of pulsed flows created by the sequential release of two lock-boxes.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

PD Detection and Analysis Triggered by Metal Protrusion in GIS Through Various Methods
Defects in GIS can be effectively detected by detecting the partial discharge (PD). The common methods of detecting partial discharge are pulse current, ultrasonic and UHF (ultra-high frequency). However, the results of different methods may be different

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Thermoelectric coolers (TECs) can reach temperatures below that obtained with a steady-state current by applying an electrical current pulse which enables a transitory state in a Peltier device. This effect is known as supercooling.
