A high-capacity 1-K cryogenic system pre-cooled by pulse tube cryocooler

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica
A 1-K cryogenic system can provide a stable and necessary low-temperature environment for some fields such as quantum computing, condensed matter physics research, and cryogenic scientific instruments. Specifically, in the field of basic research, 1 K is an ideal condition for studying quantum phenomena in low-temperature physics, such as quantum Hall ...

Minimising flow losses within the pulse tube of a Stirling pulse tube cryocooler [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Successful operation of Stirling pulse tube cryocoolers relies on minimising flow mixing within the pulse tube. Hence, the pulse tube and the flow straighteners at either end must be designed with great care. In this study, the flow within the pulse tube

The Split‐Station Architecture: Decoupling Transformation From Distribution via Medium‐Voltage Superconducting Virtual Bus Extensions

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes the split‐station architecture, which uses high‐temperature superconducting (HTS) cables as ‘virtual bus extensions’ to decouple transformation from distribution in medium‐voltage systems. PYPOWER simulations validated against Project Hydra 13.8 kV specifications demonstrate that a 3‐km HTS link reduces voltage drop by 46 ...

Room‐Temperature Possible Current‐Induced Transition in Ca2RuO4 Thin Films Grown Through Intercalation‐Like Cation Diffusion in the A2BO4 Ruddlesden–Popper Structure

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 8, Issue 12, December 19, 2024.
Detailed structural characterization of Ca2RuO4/LaAlO3 (001) epitaxial thin films reveals that intercalation‐like, interstitial diffusion of cations (Ru and La) is effectively inducible in the Ruddlesden–Popper lattice at >1270 °C and enables optimized cation deficiency control in the films.
