Large optical cavity AlGaAs buried heterostructure window lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Large optical cavity buried heterostructure window lasers in which only the transparent AlGaAs waveguiding layers, and not the active layer, extend to the laser mirrors have been fabricated.

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.

Electrochemically Driven Dissipative Growth of Affinity Hydrogels for Bioresponsive Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Voltage pulses drive the growth and reinforcement of hydrogel films under dissipative conditions. This biocompatible strategy enables efficient integration of affinity ligands into the hydrogel matrix, enhancing the selective capture of growth factors and allowing precise temporal control over their release, making them well‐suited as adaptive ...

Epitaxial growth and anisotropy of La(O,F)FeAs thin films deposited by Pulsed Laser Deposition

open access: yes, 2008
LaFeAsO1-xFx thin films were deposited successfully on (001)-oriented LaAlO3 and MgO substrates from stoichiometric LaFeAsO1-xFx polycrystalline targets with fluorine concentrations up to x = 0.25 by PLD. Room temperature deposition and post annealing of

Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

An improved continuous compositional-spread technique based on pulsed-laser deposition and applicable to large substrate areas

open access: yes, 2003
A new method for continuous compositional-spread (CCS) thin-film fabrication based on pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) is introduced. This approach is based on a translation of the substrate heater and the synchronized firing of the excimer laser, with the ...

Understanding and Tuning Mobile Interfaces in Ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films in Relation to Microstructure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectricity in thin HfO2‐based films offers great possibilities for next‐generation neuromorphic memory devices. There, the response to subcoercive voltage signals is driven by the movement of mobile interfaces and their interaction with crystal defects – a yet rather unexplored aspect, which we shed light on and gain new insights into the complex

On a film growth model in the process of pulsed laser deposition based on the differential equations’ solution

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений. Поволжский регион: Физико-математические науки, 2021
Background. Pulsed laser deposition is one of the most promising modern methods for producing epitaxial layers. The method gives a possibility to apply materials with special properties (metals, carbides, etc.) to the surface of parts, which allows ...
