Problem of punching shear in slabs on culumns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Existing technical solutions enabling sufficient punching resistance failure of flot slabs were\ud analyzed. The reasons that ultimately lead to punching shear and the consequences of shear\ud punching were examined as well.

Decoupling Silicon and Graphite Contribution in High‐Silicon Content Composite Electrodes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
The decoupled blend cell setup enabled to assess that even a small mass fraction of silicon in a Si/Gr composite negative electrode can increase significantly the stress (effective C‐rate) of graphite. This effect should be considered if composites with large amounts of silicon are to be developed commercially.

Strengthening of slab-column connections using ultra high-performance fiber concrete

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2022
This experimental work intends to assess the efficiency of employing ultra-high-performance fiber concrete (UHPFC) as a strengthening system for improving the punching shear capacity of slab-column connections (SCCs).

Usage of prestressed vertical bolts for retrofitting flat slabs damaged due to punching shear

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2015
Sometimes, due to design mistakes or a change in the construction function results in heavier or additional loads, a flat slab may be failed by punching shear which is considered as a brittle failure.

Analysis of Quality‐Relevant Process–Structure Relationships through Tracking and Tracing: A Comprehensive Study on the Calendering Process in Lithium‐Ion Battery Production

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
This study examined the compaction behavior of an electrode and its impact on product quality using a marker‐based traceability system. Electrodes are marked; calendered with increasing rolling force; and measured for thickness, porosity, interfacial resistance, and adhesion strength.

Enhancement of punching shear strength of flat slabs using shear-band reinforcement

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2018
Flat-slab system is widely used nowadays. Major and critical problem of this system is its sudden brittle failure is called punching shear failure. To overcome the punching failure problem, there are many ways to increase the punching shear strength of ...

Optimizing UHPC Layers to Improve Punching Shear Performance in Concrete Slabs

open access: yesBuildings
Flat slabs supported by columns without beams are widely used in construction owing to their economy and efficiency. However, brittle punching shear failure at slab–column connections can cause progressive collapse.
