Residual punching shear capacity of corroded reinforced concrete slabs
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2023Steel reinforcement corrosion is becoming a critical issue due to the amount of old buildings still in operation with a high probability of substantial corrosion in their reinforcements. The strength and serviceability of corroded reinforced concrete (RC) slab is remarkably impacted by corrosion.

Punching Shear Capacity of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Flat Slabs without Shear Reinforcements
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2022This study examined the effect of the unit weight and compressive strength of concrete on the punching shear capacity of flat slabs without shear reinforcements. The slabs were prepared using all-lightweight aggregate concrete (ALWAC), sand-lightweight aggregate concrete (SLWAC), and normal-weight concrete (NWC) at the different compressive strengths ...

Punching shear capacity of steel-fibre recycled aggregate concrete slab
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2022For this paper, the punching shear behaviour of 18 steel-fibre recycled aggregate concrete (SFRAC) balanced slab–column connections was experimentally investigated and analytically modelled for the following variables: the recycled concrete aggregate replacement level (0, 50 and 100%) and the volume fraction of hooked-end fibres (0, 0.4 and 0.8%). The

Punching shear capacity of RC slab-CFT column connections
Engineering Structures, 2020Abstract This study experimentally investigates punching shear capacities of composite slab-column connections consisting of reinforced concrete (RC) flat slab and concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) column. A total of six specimens were tested under monotonically-increased load.

Briefing: Design punching shear capacity of wood-based panels
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Construction Materials, 2014Punching shear capacity is one of the mechanical properties needed in the traditional design calculation method for assessing the concentrated load capacity of wood-based panels. A method for calculating the punching shear capacity of oriented strand board from its planar shear strengths has recently been proposed.

Mechanical model for punching shear capacity of rectangular slab‐column connections
Structural Concrete, 2018This paper investigates the punching behavior of reinforced concrete flat slabs supported on rectangular columns under concentric loading. Based on the critical shear crack theory, a new model is proposed to determine the punching shear strength of slabs. In this model, a rectangular slab is replaced with an elliptical surface with the same area.

2018
In the last years the knowledge of the punching failure in R/C slabs increased thanks to several scientific studies. The progress obtained in this field is considerable, nevertheless achieved results are only taken into consideration by few Codes. The most updated code is the Model Code 2010, which adopted the Critical Shear Crack Theory (CSCT) for the

Punching Shear Capacity of Double Layer FRP Grid Reinforced Slabs
SP-230: 7th International Symposium on Fiber-Reinforced (FRP) Polymer Reinforcement for Concrete Structures, 2005Synopsis: The punching shear capacity of concrete slabs reinforced with threedimensional fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) double-layer reinforcement cages composed of glass fiber-reinforced pultruded grating elements has been investigated using full-scale experimental tests and a number of different analytical models.

Characterization of Punching Shear Capacity of Thin Uhpc Plates
2014UHPC (ultra-high performance concrete) is a relatively new type of concrete that exhibits mechanical properties that are far superior to those of conventional concrete and in some cases rival those of steel. The main characteristics that distinguish UHPC from conventional reinforced concrete are the improved compressive strength, the tensile strength ...
