New puncturing pattern for bad interleavers in turbo-codes [PDF]
This paper presents a new method of puncturing for worst interleavers. We study via simulation the effect of different combinations of tow puncturing patterns and three classes of interleavers on the performance of punctured turbo-coded systems.

Asymptotic Weight Enumerators of Randomly Punctured, Expurgated, and Shortened Code Ensembles [PDF]
In this paper, we examine the effect of random puncturing, expurgating, and shortening on the asymptotic weight enumerator of certain linear code ensembles. We begin by discussing the actions of the three alteration methods on individual codes.

The major use cases for IMT-2020 include enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC). URLLC packets occur sporadically, but each time, available resources with favorable conditions are required for their ...

Robust image transmission performed by SPIHT and turbo-codes [PDF]
This work describes the method for providing robustness to errors from a binary symmetric channel for the SPIHT image compression. The source rate and channel rate are jointly optimized by a stream of fixed-size channel packets. Punctured turbo codes are

Efficient Implementation of Density Evolution for Punctured Polar Codes
Polar codes asymptotically achieve the symmetric capacity of arbitrary binary-input discrete memoryless channels under low-complexity sequential decoding algorithms such as successive cancellation decoding.

Analysis and Design of Tuned Turbo Codes [PDF]
It has been widely observed that there exists a fundamental trade-off between the minimum (Hamming) distance properties and the iterative decoding convergence behavior of turbo-like codes.

LDM-Ex-FDM: A Novel Multi-Service Transmission Scheme for the ATSC 3.0 System
In order to improve system coverage performance, in this paper, a multi-service transmission scheme on the basis of the puncturing technique, namely layered division multiplexing extension frequency-division multiplexing (LDM-Ex-FDM), is proposed.
