Aperiodic order and pure point diffraction [PDF]
We give a leisurely introduction into mathematical diffraction theory with a focus on pure point diffraction. In particular, we discuss various characterisations of pure point diffraction and common models arising from cut and project schemes. We finish with a list of open problems.

Relating the pure and ensemble density matrix functional [PDF]
A crucial theorem in Reduced Density Matrix Functional Theory (RDMFT) suggests that the universal pure and ensemble functional coincide on their common domain of pure N-representable one-matrices. We refute this by a comprehensive analysis of the geometric picture underlying Levy's constrained search. Moreover, we then show that the ensemble functional

h-Almost Ricci solitons with concurrent potential fields
In this paper, we will focus our attention on the structure of h-almost Ricci solitons. A complete classification of h-almost Ricci solitons with concurrent potential vector fields is given.

mizar-items: Exploring fine-grained dependencies in the Mizar Mathematical Library [PDF]
The Mizar Mathematical Library (MML) is a rich database of formalized mathematical proofs (see http://mizar.org). Owing to its large size (it contains more than 1100 "articles" summing to nearly 2.5 million lines of text, expressing more than 50000 ...

This review discusses the use of Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for detecting antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Various SERS studies used with AI techniques, including machine learning and deep learning, are analyzed for their advantages and limitations.

Polarized ensembles of random pure states [PDF]
A new family of polarized ensembles of random pure states is presented. These ensembles are obtained by linear superposition of two random pure states with suitable distributions, and are quite manageable. We will use the obtained results for two purposes: on the one hand we will be able to derive an efficient strategy for sampling states from ...

F(R) gravity in purely affine formulation [PDF]
The purely affine, metric-affine and purely metric formulation of general relativity are dynamically equivalent and the relation between them is analogous to the Legendre relation between the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian dynamics. We show that one cannot construct a dynamically equivalent, purely affine Lagrangian from a metric-affine or metric F(R ...

Contexts for ‘pure’ mathematics: a framework for analysing A-level mathematics papers
The use of context in mathematics test items is now accepted practice in many forms of national assessment in the UK. Yet research suggests that such use of context is not straightforward and that children may apply a variety of interpretations to ...

A novel approach for alloy development in laser powder bed fusion is introduced. Instead of producing massive samples of one composition at a time, prepressed powder bed samples produced from powder mixtures are processed. Guidelines for the selection of precursor powders are developed.

On Edge H-Irregularity Strength of Hexagonal and Octagonal Grid Graphs
The edge H-irregularity strength, ehsΓ,H, of a graph Γ is the smallest integer k, such that Γ has an H-irregular edge k-labeling. In this study, we compute the exact value of edge H-irregularity strength of hexagonal and octagonal grid graphs.
