Use of Sodium Bicarbonate Purge Solution in Impella Devices for Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia
Journal of pharmacy and practice, 2022Heparin purge solution is recommended to be used in Impella devices to prevent biomaterial buildup and subsequent device dysfunction. The use of sodium bicarbonate purge solution in an Impella device is described in two patients with heparin-induced ...

Purge strategy optimization of proton exchange membrane fuel cell with anode recirculation
Applied Energy, 2018Anode recirculation increases hydrogen utilization but also causes nitrogen crossover and accumulation in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) anode. Purge is necessary to remove the impurity.

Effect of misalignment at 2nd vane endwall on heat transfer with purge flow
, 2021Since the domestic power plants are typically operated at a partial load rather than the design point, the thermal expansion decreases, resulting in misalignment between first stage rotor and second stage stator.

In 1943, Heilbrun published an article on extensive changes in the colon, apparently as a result of excessive and prolonged use of irritant cathartics. To our knowledge, no other report on this subject has appeared in the literature. During the past two years we have seen 2 patients with changes in the colon very similar to those described by Heilbrun.
