Structural Insights Into Papain‐Derived Synthetic Antibacterial Peptides for Targeting Klebsiella pneumoniae

The synthetic peptides WK‐MAP1 and WG‐MAP2, bioinspired by papain, demonstrated optimized activity, particularly against multidrug‐resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, with improved sequence interaction profiles, membrane affinity, and predicted antimicrobial and antibiofilm efficacy, supporting their potential as therapeutic peptide candidates.
