Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Affinity purification and elimination of methionine oxidation in recombinant human cystatin C
Recombinant human cystatin C (cC), a cysteine protease inhibitor, contained methionine sulfoxide [Met(O)] residues when expressed in Escherichia coli under aerobic conditions or upon allowing osmotic shock solutions from anaerobically grown cultures to ...

The purification and characterisation of novel dipeptidyl peptidase IV-like activity from bovine serum [PDF]
The discovery of a potentially novel proline-specific peptidase from bovine serum is presented which is capable of cleaving the dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPIV) substrate Gly-Pro-MCA.

Potato leafroll virus, its purification from its vector Myzus persicae
Experiments were described on the purification of potato leafroll virus (PLRV) from its vector Myzus persicae. Preliminary experiments demonstrated that much non- viral material had to be removed from aphid macerates to obtain a pure virus preparation ...

MicroRNAs have critical roles in a number of serious diseases and, as a result, are of major interest as clinical diagnostic targets. Conventionally, microRNAs are collected from blood and urine samples and are measured by either quantitative reverse ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Purification of the Campylobacter jejuni Dps protein assisted by its high melting temperature
Dps proteins (DNA binding protein from starved cell) form a distinct group within the ferritin superfamily. All Dps members are composed of 12 identical subunits that assemble into a conserved spherical protein shell.
