Double Sided Traction Force Microscopy: A Method to Confine Cells for Physiologically Relevant Force Measurements

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper we describe a technique to make a confined environment of variable stiffness that is suitable for high‐resolution live‐cell imaging. This versatile and adaptable technique enables cell confinement between soft elastic surfaces made from polyacrylamide gels.

CATCH COMPOSITION OF PURSE SEINE IN EAST ACEH, INDONESIA [PDF]

open access: yesRussian Journal of Agricultural and Socio-Economic Sciences
Fish catch data is crucial for analyzing policy decisions aimed at conserving available fish resources. The lack of quality data and information on fishing gear catches is a significant obstacle in fisheries management in almost all regions of Indonesia.

Carbon‐Negative Upcycling of Sewage Sludge into Superiorly Stable Gel Via Liquid‐Phase Utilization Strategy for Water‐Remediation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work developed a low‐temperature sludge hydrothermal coupled with gel crosslinking strategy which could upgrade the waste liquid generated from sewage sludge hydrothermal treatment into the hydrothermal‐liquid‐gel. The inventive hydrothermal‐liquid‐gel exhibited the enhanced pollutant removal capability, high synthetic stability, and superior ...

Biomineralization of primary carbonate cements: a new biosignature in the fossil record from the Anisian of Southern Italy

open access: yesLethaia, EarlyView., 2021
Biomineralization is a generic term used to indicate biological‐mediated mineral formation. In carbonate mineralization, nucleation of crystals can be: (1) controlled directly by the organisms, like in the skeletal formation of most metazoans; (2) induced by microbial communities, by indirect precipitation mediated by their metabolic activities; or (3)

Jointness through fishing days input in a multi-species Fishery [PDF]

open access: yes
Some multi-species fisheries are characterised by production jointness in the sense that several species are caught through a joint production process (literally in the same haul of the net). Other multi-species fisheries (so called purse seine fisheries)
