Partial-interaction analysis with push-out tests

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2005
Abstract This paper deals with an experimental and analytical study to simulate partial-interaction behavior by using push-out results for steel–concrete composite members. In order to analyze the interface behavior of steel–concrete by the degree of interaction, a total of 9 push-out test specimens were tested.

Numerical study of the single fibre push-out test

Composite Interfaces, 1997
The boundary element method (BEM) is used to analyze the stress transfer behaviour in the single fibre push-out test. The result shows that the stress distributions are well compared to those obtained from the shear lag analysis for the majority of the embedded fibre length. The BEM analysis clearly depicts the singular behaviour of interface stresses,

Push-Out Test on Shear Connectors Embedded in UHPC

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
The various push-out tests have been performed to investigate the load carrying capacity and ultimate behavior of headed studs in UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete), which has high compressive and tensile strength as well as high durability compared to ordinary concrete.

Fiber push-out testing apparatus for elevated temperatures

Journal of Materials Research, 1994
A newly developed apparatus has been designed for performing fiber push-out testing on continuous fiber-reinforced composites at elevated temperatures. This test measures the force at which a fiber resists being pushed by a flat-bottomed indenter moving at a constant speed.

Interfacial mechanics of push-out tests: theory and experiments

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2001
Abstract The thermo-mechanical characterization of interfaces in composite systems (PMC/MMC/IMC/CMC) is one of the challenging problems in composite mechanics and engineering. Each system has its own distinguishing features; however, in MMCs and IMCs the study is rendered more complex due to the evolving chemical species (both temporally and ...

Numerical Simulation of Metal/Cement Push-Out Test

Materials Science Forum, 2013
In petroleum wells, the adhesion between the steel and the cementitious coating material is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the mechanical point of view and of the thermodynamic stability of steels, protecting them against corrosion, preventing the escape of fluids inside and hydraulically isolating the structure against infiltration.

Thermal analysis of push-out tests at elevated temperatures

Fire Safety Journal, 2013
Abstract An essential component of a composite beam is the shear connection between the steel section and the concrete slab. Contrasting to the great quantity of push-out tests carried out at room temperature, a reduced number of push-out tests at elevated temperatures has been reported.

Critical Evaluation of the Push-out Test for Root Canal Filling Materials

Journal of Endodontics, 2013
The push-out test has been widely used in experimental endodontics but has been criticized on technical grounds particularly because the soft-core material undergoes plastic deformation under load. This study systematically evaluated the technique by comparing push-out strength and load profiles in relation to core material stiffness, canal diameter ...

Elevated Temperature Fiber Push-Out Testing

MRS Proceedings, 1994
ABSTRACTThe potential use of fiber-reinforced composite materials for high temperature applications makes the development of interface test methodology at those high temperatures very desirable. A facility for performing high temperature fiber push-out tests will be described with emphasis on critical issues in experimental procedure.

Simulations of push-out tests: influence of several parameters and structural arrangements

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2019
Bonded connections between steel beams and concrete slabs in composite structures were studied in this work. First, an accurate and efficient three-dimensional simulation of push-out tests was carried out, and the assumptions needed to reach this goal were more thoroughly investigated.
