Shoulder kinematics during the wall push-up plus exercise

open access: yes, 2020
Background and hypothesis: The push-up plus exercise is a common therapeutic exercise for improving shoulder function and treating shoulder pathology. To date, the kinematics of the push-up plus exercise have not been studied. Our hypothesis was that the

Enhanced Mechanical Recycling of Polymer Mixtures by a Trifunctional Dynamic Crosslinker

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐catalyzed, trifunctional dynamic crosslinker that incorporates three desired properties into one system and is compatible with reactive extrusion can compatibilize waste plastic mixtures containing high Tm polymers and impart the recycled mixtures with superior thermoset properties such as enhanced creep resistance and thermomechanical stability

The role of economic push/pull factors on migration from Somalia to Finland

open access: yes, 2018
The purpose of this paper is to identify the economic pull and push factors for international migration to Finland from Somalia. The major part of this paper will have detailed history of changes in these factors from the period of 2000 to 2015 and ...

Multi‐Stimuli Responsive Angstrom‐Scale Two‐Dimensional Channels of Natural Layered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Å‐scale ion channels naturally formed within the interlayers of vermiculite clay enable ionic current modulation in response to mechanical, chemical, and electrical stimuli. Coupled pressure and electric fields induce reversible streaming current (Istream) polarity inversion, which is explained by a modified surface charge regulation model.

Bioengineered Interfaces for Peripheral Nerve Sensory Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Half of amputees abandon their prosthetics for lack of feeling. This review charts the full path from peripheral nerve injury to restored sensation, through surgical, regenerative, noninvasive, and implanted approaches, and shows how injury type and interface material properties determine which strategy can deliver naturalistic feedback, and why ...

Upscaling the Fabrication of Rod‐Shaped Microgels: A Microfluidic Method Combining Step‐Emulsification With Consecutive Droplet Confinement in Parallelized Microchannels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A microfluidic method is presented which enables parallelized fabrication of rod‐shaped microgels, based on step‐emulsification (SE) droplet generation and subsequent droplet distribution and confinement, combined in a single device. Microgel rods are fabricated in parallel at different flow rates based on two light‐mediated crosslinking chemistries ...
