Food, Energy, and Health Implications of Agrivoltaic Farms

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The benefits of agrivoltaics (AV) are documented, with empirical evidence for their suitability for collocated energy generation, crop cultivation, and water savings, even for staple crops. What is lacking is a holistic modeling framework to design and optimize AV systems for specific crop types, micro‐environments, and panel configurations ...

Adaptive scheduling algorithm for a PV-powered irrigation system

open access: yes, 2009
Optimal management of irrigation systems and their efficient use of energy is a major global concern where energy resources are jeopardized. Effective solar irradiance in the United Arab Emirates is available most of the year which makes it easy to project PV (Photo Voltaic) system output and the produced flow and pressure produced by a PV-powered DC ...

Forecasting Coastal ENSO Warming in the Niño 1+2 Region Using ConvLSTM: Toward Improved Early Warning in Peru and Ecuador

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Accurate forecasting of the El Niño‐Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is essential for improving regional climate resilience and managing water‐related risks. While most deep learning studies have focused on the Niño 3.4 region, the Niño 1+2 region, closely linked to extreme coastal warming associated with ENSO that impacts water infrastructure ...

Effect of Endodontic Sealers on the Bond Strength of Glass Fibre Posts: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, Volume 52, Issue 2, Page 554-570, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This systematic review evaluated the influence of resin‐based, eugenol‐based and bioceramic endodontic sealers on the bond strength of glass fibre posts cemented with resin cements. Searches were conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar and Embase, including in vitro studies using human or bovine teeth ...

Association Between Contact Force and Acute Lesion Effectiveness in Focal Pulsed Field Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 8, Page 1879-1882, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulsed field ablation (PFA), based on irreversible electroporation, is a non‐thermal modality designed to create myocardial lesions while minimizing collateral injury. The determinants of acute lesion effectiveness in humans remain incompletely understood.

Design of an energy-optimized IoT system for off-grid agriculture: Solar-powered monitoring and irrigation control

open access: yesScientific African
The deployment of smart irrigation technologies in rural and remote agricultural regions remains limited by unreliable electrical infrastructure, restricted Internet connectivity, and the high energy demand of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms.

Comparison of Spatio‐Temporal Dispersion Electrogram Ablation and Low Voltage Zone Ablation in Patients With Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 8, Page 1837-1845, August 2026.
This study compared STDE‐guided versus LVZ‐guided ablation beyond PVI in 107 persistent AF patients. At 24 months, the AF‐free survival rate was significantly higher in the STDE group (76.3% vs. 58.4%, p=0.027). STDE ablation independently reduced recurrence risk (HR: 0.29, p=0.004), providing superior clinical efficacy over LVZ ablation.

Performance evaluation of large power PV irrigation systems

open access: yes
Large power diesel-based or grid-connected irrigation systems are being replaced by battery-free large power stand-alone Photovoltaic Irrigation Systems (PVIS) for which no experimental performance data are available. However, these experimental data are crucial since knowing the expected performance values is key to establish quality thresholds in ...
