Investigation of the Effect Temperature on Photovoltaic (PV) Panel Output Performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The main limit of PV systems is the low conversion efficiency of PV panels, which is strongly influenced by their operating temperature. Lack of accuracy in consideration through PV panel temperature increases the financial risk of system installation ...

Histone Modification Complex JMJ704‐HDA709 Negatively Regulates Salinity Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the rice histone demethylase JMJ704 interacts with HDA709―a H3K9ac deacetylase characterized herein―to form a chromatin‐modifying complex. Under salt stress, OsWRKY72 recruits this complex through interaction with JMJ704 to target loci, repressing the expression of oxidative stress and salt‐responsive genes via removal of ...

Analysis and Characterization of Faults in PV Panels

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2017
Abstract PV panels are growing nowadays. Their faults, hazards and risks are becoming an important axis of research to reduce related dangers and accidents. We present in this paper three main faults that happens to PV panels: the interconnect and connection faults, the bridge and earth, and the shunt path development.

Adsorption of Forever Chemical Pollutants: The Physical Chemistry of PFAS Near Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current adsorption‐based remediation techniques for removing per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water are limited by knowledge gaps on PFAS behavior near solid surfaces. This review provides a state of the art on theoretical and experimental aspects of PFAS adsorption.

Electrical characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) solar panel and hybrid PV/thermal (PV/T) solar panel

open access: yesARPN Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Solar collectors and photovoltaic (PV) solar panels can convert solar radiation into heat and electrical energy. A hybrid PV/thermal (PV/T) solar panel was tested in this study. The hybrid PV/T solar panel was tested using a spiral absorber and water flow levels range from 0.01 kg/s to 0.03 kg/s.

Multiscale Perspectives on Perovskite Instability: From Atomistic Deformation to Device Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale perspectives on how excess charges in soft lead halide perovskites induce operational instability in photovoltaic devices are presented. Localized carriers formed under thermodynamic non‐equilibrium states modify atomistic interactions and drive lattice distortions, accelerating device degradation.

Thermal management of concentrator photovoltaics [PDF]

open access: yes
Photovoltaic Concentrator systems, which increase the solar radiation intensity on the photovoltaic cells, may reduce the system cost, if the cost of the concentrator is less than the photovoltaic material displaced.
